(Milledgeville, Ga) — In his second briefing of the day, Voting System Implementation Manager Gabriel Sterling issued a strong rebuke of President Trump.

"Mr. President, it looks like you likely lost the State of Georgia," said Sterling. "Stop inspiring people to commit potential acts of violence. Someone is going to get hurt. Someone is going to get shot. Someone is going to get killed."

Sterling has himself been placed under police protection in the wake of the November elections. His comments on Tuesday were sparked by news that somebody sent a voting system contractor in Gwinnett County a noose.

"I can't begin to explain the level of anger that I have right now over this," he said. "And every American, every Georgian, Republican and Democrat alike, should have the same level of anger."

President Trump has called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger an "enemy of the people." Sterling said today that the Secretary has been harassed, and his wife is receiving threats of sexual violence via text message.

"This is elections, this is the backbone of democracy, and all of you who have not said a damn word are complicit in this," Sterling said.

WGUR's Jonathan O'Brien reports on what Voting System Implementation Manager Gabriel Sterling said during a Tuesday afternoon briefing.
