WGUR Jingle Contest
WGUR 95.3FM hosted a “Create WGUR’s Jingle Contest,” Oct. 21st through Nov. 5th. WGUR has recently rebranded from being “The Edge,” to being “The Noise.”
Jingle Contest Winner Bryan Bunn with Laura Nolan
As a way to continue rebranding “The Noise” and to get students and the surrounding community involved WGUR hosted a jingle contest.
The contest was open for two weeks and was mainly promoted on WGUR’s social media outlets, as well as through flyers around Georgia College’s campus. Participants had to include “WGUR 95.3 FM The Noise” somewhere in their jingle but other than that they were free to be creative.
For the contest, WGUR hoped to find a jingle that was catchy, fun and something memorable for listeners. The WGUR staff found these qualities with Georgia College student Bryan Bunn’s jingle to the tune of “Don’t Drop That Thun Thun.”
As the winner of the contest, Bunn won a package of gift cards to shops in downtown Milledgeville and was also given the opportunity to come into the studio and record his jingle to air over WGUR’s new frequency. Tune in to WGUR 95.3FM The Noise to hear Bunn’s jingle and be sure to like and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for information on upcoming events, contests and giveaways.
